We now offer micropigmentation for the scalp. If you have had to rely on temporary cover-ups that you glue or shake on to your head we now have another technique that can help. Scalp micropigmentation offers a stylish, modern more permanent look. This technique works well to add density to thinning areas or to help conceal scars where transplantation may no longer be an option or in combination with the transplant.
How does the process work?
The application of scalp micropigmentation is usually quite painless. There may be a little discomfort in more sensitive regions like the temples, but most people report only very mild sensitivity during their procedure. We offer our own numbing lotion for women who may be concerned about any discomfort, although for most people it really isn’t necessary.
When implanting the inks, we match the hair perfectly, then go one shade darker, to give the shadow illusion to get the ‘full head of hair’ look that is desired. We perform our procedure very softly through the frontal hairline and breaking up the impressions to give it the natural appearance. Going through the top and sides of thin hair, we go much more dense to reduce any contrast in shade between the color of the hair and the color of the scalp, to provide the maximum illusion of density.
This procedure usually requires 2-3 sessions to achieve the desired result. These procedures are completed around a week or two of each other, and the recovery time between each session can be as little as a few hours.
Scalp micropigmentation, otherwise known as SMP, is perfect for men and women who are thinning on the top and crown area of their head. We also have treated many who have had facelift surgeries, due to scarring on the sides and temples of their head, it leaves bald patches. We will fill and camouflage scarring blending it evenly through the hair. This works particularly well when combined with a transplant surgery.
